*A school-based health center (SBHC) is open to all students where a clinic is located, regardless of income or healthcare coverage. SBHCs operate much like a small doctor’s office does; their medical team works closely with the school nurse and is available during the school day to assist students with basic sick visits, physicals, immunizations, and more. They have mental health clinicians to provide individual and/or group therapy to students as well as to families who may be struggling with their child’s behavior or mood. Westhill High School’s SBHC is staffed with a dentist and hygienist who are available to all Stamford Public School students.
