Matthew joined Domus in 2021. Originally from Stamford, he also works assisting Domus Knights family advocates and doing street outreach with Project New Hope. “What’s kept me at Domus is the organization’s dedication to the mission of enriching the lives of the next generations. That, along with the initiative taken toward caring about the well-being of the staff members.” Matthew is passionate about supporting youth and building spaces where they feel safe, seen, and inspired. Outside of work, he enjoys drawing, listening to music of all kinds, creating motivational and encouraging content, and has recently taken on photography and videography.
Donna Dix has been with Domus since 2002; roles she has held include assistant to the after-school director, assistant teacher/para, residential youth worker, and Invictus team member, working in every program aside from School Engagement. Born and raised in Stamford, Donna continues to serve the community she loves. “The youth I work with and the difference I make in their lives is what keeps me here. I enjoy working with middle schoolers because they are more flexible and open to change, unlike high school students who often have their minds set.” Donna finds fulfillment in seeing the smiles on students‘ faces and helping them grow. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and loves softball, having served as an integral part of the Domus’ past team.
Khaila joined Domus in 2017 and has previously served as a Work & Learn staff member and youth counselor. Born and raised in Stamford, Khaila is proud to work with an organization that never gives up on disconnected youth. “What has kept me at Domus is their model and the way they never gave up on me either. Even as I navigated major health challenges, they never made me feel less than.” Her commitment to supporting young people is fueled by both her personal resilience and belief in second chances. Outside work, Khaila enjoys working with ceramics and has a fun talent: She can juggle!
Daniel joined Domus in 2019; he has previously worked as an after-school counselor and senior counselor. Born and raised in Stamford, he still lives in the community he serves. “I firmly believe that small wins add up to big change. It’s about building trust by being there year after year, growing from a new hire into a skilled mentor, and seeing how a youth’s successes lift not just a student but their whole community. Choosing this work means putting purpose over comfort, making hope a daily practice, and staying dedicated to helping young people succeed. I have an innate passion to help our gifted young people achieve their goals and pursue their dreams, and through my work, I get to do just that!” Outside of work, Daniel enjoys cooking, writing, and has a deep interest in film, luxury fashion, and music.
